New Medicare benefits aid diabetics, mentally ill

The State of Ohio is rolling out a new Medicare benefit and Lucas County Residents will be some of the first able to take advantage.

The new benefit is for people who have severe mental illnesses and also chronic medical conditions, such as diabetes.

 Health officials say the service is scheduled to begin October 1st in Lucas and four other Ohio  counties.
