Terrance Owens has agreed to a deal with the San Diego Padres. The Toledo quarterback will still finish his final two years of college football eligibility. While Owens would still like to pursue a career in football, this deal ensures that he will join the Padres when his football days are over.
"T.O is 100 percent committed to playing quarterback for the Rockets for the next two seasons," said Head Coach Matt Campbell.
The Padres shocked many people in June's draft when they selected Owens in the 40th round, especially since Owens hasn't played baseball since his youth days. But they see a big athlete with a strong left arm and are willing to take a shot on his potential.
