Lucas County will be one of five counties to get a new medicaid benefit.
The state is rolling out the new benefit for people who have severe mental illnesses. This also affects people with chronic medical conditions, like diabetes.
Health officials say the service is scheduled to begin October 1 in Lucas and four other counties.
More counties are scheduled to be phased in the coming year.
