Man dubbed the "Facebook Phony" behind bars

Posted: Updated:

A man dubbed "The Facebook Phony" is in the Lucas County Jail on a $10,000 bond.

50-year old David Klotz faced a judge in Toledo Municipal court Friday. The judge doubled his bail, after a woman accused Klotz of biting her.

13abc first told you about Klotz last fall.

Police say he's homeless, but he posts phony pictures of body builders online. He allegedly uses computers at the library and claims the pictures he posts are of himself.

Our ABC affiliate... WXYZ in Detroit, spoke with a Toledo woman who says Klotz tricked her and ran up her credit cards.

The station also reports similar scams across the Detroit area and says Klotz may be behind dozens of them.
