Perrysburg council approves transportation levy on ballot

PERRYSBURG, Ohio -

Perrysburg City Council has approved a resolution for a 1.45 mill levy to pay for new public transportation in the city.

The millage is designed to raise about $800,000, which is about half of what taxpayers paid for TARTA this year.

Perrysburg City Councilman Todd Grayson says they chose the amount so they could select any of the top three options for service providers.  Right now, MV Transit, Black and White and Ride Right are in the top spots.

In March, voters decided to opt out of TARTA.

City council will vote to officially put the levy on the November ballot at the July 31 meeting.
