Ohio reviews death penalty cases for racial bias

Ohio's death penalty practices are under review.

A State Supreme Court committee is studying data to see if there's a racial bias in capital punishment cases.

That data includes past cases and will include future homicide suspects that could face the death penalty.

State leaders could require lawyers and judges to be trained to protect against a racial bias.

In 2005 an Associated Press study found African-American suspect who killed white victims were more likely to be sentenced to death.
