WANTED: 23-year old Jose Moya
WANTED: 18-year old Raul Moya
Victim Leandra Frankum and her baby
PERRYSBURG, Ohio -
A 21-year-old mother is shot dead in Perrysburg Township, and police are searching for two armed suspects. Two brothers are believed to be connected to the crime.
Police responded to a 9-1-1 call in the Perrysburg Heights neighborhood this weekend.
Crime tape and a makeshift memorial mark the crime scene on Broad Street. Forty hours after the crime, police are still searching for the killer.
Leandra Frankum is described as a funny, goofy, caring mother. She had an 8-month-old daughter with Jose Moya, the man police say is now linked to her murder.
A family friend who didn't want to be indentified says Leandra and Jose had been dating for years, but the couple had recently been fighting.
"It was an on again, off again relationship," he says. "No one really knows but them."
It's still unclear what happened before the shooting inside a friend's home early Sunday morning, but police say the Moya brothers are linked to the scene. Investigators say Jose and Raul Moya are on the run, and police need the public's help.
"We have no idea what kind of vehicle they are in at this time," says Perrysburg Sergeant Jim Gross. "That's why I need help to apprehend them.)
Family members of both the victim and suspects want justice and hope Fraunkum's death serves as a grave reminder about the dangers of domestic violence.
Investigators say, if you have any idea where Jose or Raul Moya are located, you should call police. Both men are considered armed and dangerous.
