The classic honors the memory of Stan Yee Sr., who owned Late Models for over 40 years. Stan passed away in May of 2008. His famous #33 cars won numerous big events and championships throughout his career, including the 2003 Flat Rock Late Model crown with his son, Stan Jr., at the controls.
The 2012 edition of the race marks the fourth year for the Memorial race at Flat Rock. Justin Schroeder won the first event in 2008, with Mike Luberda Jr. scoring the win in the 2009 race. Mike Root came from Grand Rapids, MI to win the 150 lap race in 2010, while defending Flat Rock champ Eric Lee grabbed the victory in 2011.
Stan Yee Memorial 150 T-shirts will be available at the Flat Rock Speedway souvenir stand on race night.
This year's 150 is leg number 5 of the 6-race ARCA Allegiant Gold Cup Series. Rig parking will begin at 12:15 and the pits will then be cleared. Pit registration will open at 1 p.m. on July 28, with practice for the Late Models set to begin at 3. Time trials begin at 5 and racing starts at 7 p.m.
