The Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a single bullet hole in vehicle that was parked in the parking lot of the Toledo Correctional Institution.
Thursday at approximately 3:15 PM a female visitor was leaving the institution when she heard a popping noise and looked over to see a windshield on a nearby parked vehicle, had what appeared to be a hole in it. The visitor returned to the facility and promptly notified authorities. A trooper working inside of the facility responded immediately. The perimeter area of the parking lot and adjacent neighborhood were searched by the Toledo Police Department and the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
It has been determined through the initial investigation, that the hole was the result of a semi-automatic handgun bullet, which appears to have been fired into the air from the adjacent neighborhood, with no intended target.
There are no possible suspects identified at this time.
If anyone has any knowledge or information as to who may have fired the handgun, they are encouraged to report it to the Ohio State Highway Patrol at (419) 865-5544.

A monstrous tornado at least a half-mile wide roared through the Oklahoma City suburbs Monday, flattening entire neighborhoods with winds up to 200 mph. At least 51 people were reported killed.
Emergency crews searched through debris in Oklahoma searching for survivors and the dead. At least 24 people were killed in Moore. Many others remain missing.
