Fire officials in Monroe township have had their hands full in recent days. They've battled a suspicious fire while dealing with a citizen who's been posing as one of their own.
While the Monroe County Sheriff's Office is busy looking into what drove a man to wake up a neighborhood claiming to be a fireman.
Neighbor Charles Serratos said, :When he kicked on the door he was announcing he was a fire fighter...literally. Bang, Bang Bang fire department! And he was in not in any sort of fire gear. He was dressed like I am."
Serratos even said the man was going in and out of the burning trailer home.
"One of the other gentlemen who lives around here actually pulled him out of the house, because he was in the house crawling on the floors saying he was a fireman."
The Monroe Township Fire Department arrived soon after to put out the blaze.
Detectives tell us the man was arrested for impersonating a fire fighter.
Neighbors we spoke with told us the man, has a reputation for attracting attention.
"You could tell he was really really drunk. I talked to a couple of the guys around here that recognized him and he was very known for drunk in public and stuff like that."
Officials from the Monroe Township Fire Department say impersonating a fire fighter can also put people in danger.
