Hollywood Casino promotes "responsible gaming"

Posted: Updated:
TOLEDO, Ohio -

Hollywood Casino Toledo is joining Penn National Gaming casinos across the United States, the American Gaming Association, the National Center for Responsible Gaming and the Ohio Casino Control Commission for the 15th annual Responsible Gaming Education Week, July 30 – Aug. 3.

Toledo Mayor Michael Bell will kick off events at 10 a.m. Monday by issuing a Responsible Gaming Week proclamation. Lucas County Commissioners Pete Gerken and Tina Skeldon Wozniak, Ohio Casino Control Commission Commissioner Peter Silverman and Hollywood Casino Toledo executives Mike Galle and Jason Birney will join him in the lobby at One Government Center.

Responsible Gaming Education Week events are planned throughout next week. Tuesday, Hollywood team members will promote responsible gaming at the Mud Hens game and the Toledo City Council will issue a Responsible Gaming Education Week resolution.  Hollywood Casino emloyees will distribute responsible education materials later in the week at the Toledo Zoo's "Rock N' Roar" and at the Wood County Fair.

At the casino, Hollywood is implementing a campaign – "All In" – to educate team employees and encourage them to be ambassadors for promoting responsible gaming.  Team members will be issued "All-in" t-shirts and wristbands and activities will include quizzes and door prizes in the team member dining room.

"Responsible Gaming is something we stress every day as part of our Code of Conduct, but this week is a great opportunity for our team members and others in the community to join in activities that reinforce the principles we strive to follow," said Mike Galle, assistant general manager of Hollywood Casino Toledo.

Penn National Gaming's Code of Conduct for Responsible Gaming is a set of policies and guidelines, modeled after a similar code developed by the American Gaming Association.  The Code deals with issues such as problem gambling, underage gambling, improper use of alcohol, responsible marketing and advertising and unattended minors.
