Wood County Fair kicks off in Bowling Green

Posted: Updated:
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -

It's that time of the year again!

The Wood County Fair kicked into full gear Monday, for the first time adding an 8th day to the schedule.

Nearly one hundred thousand people are expected through the week, making the Wood County Fair one of the largest county fairs in Ohio.

Beyond the rids and all of the food, there are some new things this year.

One of the new headlines on Wednesday evening's schedule is Cowboy Mounted Shooting.

Men and women on horseback will fire 0.45 revolvers, competing for accuracy and time -- firing blanks, of course.

Regardless of what you're into, the Fair is a favorite in late July and early August.

The Wood County Fair will remain open through next Monday, August 6.

Through Thursday gates open at 8 a.m. and close at 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday the fair runs from 8 a.m. to midnight. Admission for any of those days is $6.

Next Monday the fair runs from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., and admission is free!

Parking is free all week.
