Today is the first day Ohio towns will receive a check from casino revenue.The first casino payout check for Lucas county is $192,000. It's money commissioner Pete Gerken says will go right into the general fund.
County leaders say they plan on using some of the money to balance the budget and pay for items at the Lucas county sheriff's department. All of Ohio's 88 counties will recieve some money from the casino today and then another check come late fall.
In June ,both of the states casinos in Toledo and Cleveland took in more than $46.5 million dollars from table games and slot machines.
As for the education dollars, school district payouts happen twice a year,so those wanting to see just how much the casinos will generate for schools have to wait until the end of January.
