COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - People in a section of Columbus are being warned to lock their doors and windows to protect against what police are calling a serial "creeper."
The Columbus Dispatch (http://bit.ly/OH083B ) reports that police have logged dozens of complaints of a man sneaking in and watching or touching women as they sleep.
Sgt. David Pelphrey of the city's sexual-assault unit said 11 incidents have taken place in a west Columbus neighborhood dating back to December.
Pelphrey said Wednesday that more than one man might be committing the crimes. Descriptions have varied, in part because the women were awakened suddenly.
In all the cases, the women screamed or otherwise caused the man to run away. Police are treating the incidents as serial sexually deviant behavior.
