Deadly Megabus crash

Posted: Updated:

New details in an accident involving a double-decker Megabus on an Illinois Interstate.

That crash has claimed the life of at least one person. Illinois State Police say more than two dozen have been taken to trauma centers and hospitals.

Investigators say a tire may have blown causing the driver to lose control before the bus slammed head-on into a concrete bridge support pillar.

A passenger described a chaotic scene, "When I came to my senses, it was just people in the aisles, medians.  Most people had blood on them somewhere. There was a man who couldn't move from the neck down. I could hear screams of pain from the top level of the bus."

The bus was headed from Chicago to Kansas City, Missouri.
