Pet overpopulation is an enormous problem in our community, but a local spay/neuter clinic is helping to change that.
Right now there are some incredible deals at Humane Ohio for those of you who own pit bulls and pit mixes.
If you live in Lucas County and your pit is licensed, you can have them fixed and microchipped for just five dollars through the "Fix-a-Bull" program!
If you don't meet those requirements, the "Primp Your Pit" program allows anyone who lives in Michigan or Ohio to have their pit fixed for just $20.
"We have a huge pet overpopulation problem, so whether it is a pit bull, a cat or any other kind of dog, it is so important to reduce the pet population and save lives," says Jill Borkowski with Humane Ohio.
Humane Ohio fixes both cats and dogs. More than 60,000 have been fixed at the clinic since it opened in 2006.
