Video: plane crash from passengers' point of view

Posted: Updated:

A heart stopping moment in the sky caught on video.

A small plane with a father, son and two friends onboard stalled in mid-air, sending them upside down and straight toward the ground.

It happened in June in Idaho,  but video was only recently posted online.  From take-off the single engine plane had trouble in the thin mountain air  struggling and failing to gain enough altitude .

Passenger Tol Gropp said, "It sounded like rapid gunfire until we were on the ground. it was kind of just mayhem."

Fellow Passenger Alec Arhets said, "glass and debris and sticks and pine cones and everything's just flying through."

The pilot suffered the worst of it with a broken jaw, ribs and cuts to his face. One passenger says he had a concussion. The two others had cuts and bruises.
