TOLEDO, Ohio -

Multiple shot were  fired into a Toledo apartment killing an innocent baby and seriously injuring her toddler sister on Thursday night.

Now the hunt is on for the suspects responsible for the violent murder

"We're coming after you we're going to find you and we're going to throw you in jail. And anyone associated with this crime we're going to throw them in jail as well."
That was the stern message from TPD's chief Derrick Diggs to the gunman who fired multiple rounds into an apartment killing an innocent child and injuring another.

It happened Thursday night just before 11 pm in the Moody Manor Apartments. Police say the suspects approached the house from behind and fired more than 12 rounds into the home.

One-year-old Keondra Hooks and her two-year old sister Leondra were sleeping on the on the floor. Police say Keondra was shot in the head and died.

Leondra was hit in the upper body. The parents were not home and the children were being watched by a family member.

Police have no suspects.  Moody Manor Apartments has surveillance cameras and police are currently reviewing the video. So far police have no suspects.

The stormy weather that rolled through last night may make it more difficult for police to id-the suspects even though the cameras were rolling. That's why Chief Diggs needs your help.

"I know there are individuals in the community who can assist us in identifying these perpetrators. I know there are there are individuals in this community who can assist us in providing information and assist us in arresting these individuals."

TPD's Gang Task Force rolls through the apartment complex often. Residents say gunshots can be heard in crime ridden neighborhood almost every night. Violence that sometimes spills into other neighborhoods.

Chief Diggs said, "I've said all along the violence must stop in this community. It must stop and I need for the good citizens of this community to step forward to work with me and work with this police dept and work with my officers to see that this is done."
