The hospital has confirmed that one year old, Keondra Hooks, has died as a result of her injuries. Police say she was shot in the head.

Earlier, Police Chief Derrick Diggs said today, "Make no mistake Toledo Police will do everything to bring these perpetrators to justice."

This in the wake of a double shooting. The Toledo Police Chief Derrick Diggs held a news conference this morning. He said they've assigned a large number of investigators to the case.

Twelve shots were fired into the back of an apartment in the Moody Manor complex. Keondra Hooks, one, was shot in the head, and Leondra Hooks, two, was shot in the upper body. Three other adults and an infant were also in the home, no one else was injured and police wouldn't confirm the relationships of the people present. The mother was not at home at the time of the shooting. The Hooks sisters were sleeping on the floor at the time.

Diggs is asking the public for any information and says they are currently reviewing surveillance video. They believe this was not a random act. He said police are aware that this is a problem area that they are frequently called to check.
