Aspirin may help with cancer fight

It turns out that the most familiar household drug of all can be of some benefit against cancer.

Some recent trials have shown that daily aspirin use -- either baby or adult dose -- may reduce cancer mortality rates by 15% over ten years.

However, other studies found that aspirin had no effect on cancer mortality.

So a new study in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute takes another look.

The authors say they found a reduction in cancer mortality with daily aspirin use,  but not as great as the earlier study.
