Some say it is as easy as lacing your shoes others think differently.
But for a Central Catholic star it is an opportunity he has been waiting for since he was a young boy.
Jake isn't your average athlete. After transferring high schools before the start of his junior year, it hadn't even been two months on new turf, that Jake broke his tibia during football.
"I was scared. I was nervous that maybe I wasn't going to be able to play this year."
He started his HS career on one field and is now making dreams come true on another.
"It was definitely nerve wracking to, you know and then going through surgery and everything, it was just it was scary."
As Jake prepares for his senior year he reflects on what he has.
"It's a blessing.to be given the opportunities that I have and have the people that I do in my life.:
