CLEVELAND (AP) - A veteran Cleveland police officer has been charged with rape.
The Plain Dealer reports that 47-year-old Patrolman Gregory Jones was arrested Thursday by internal affairs officers.
Police spokesman Sgt. Sammy
Morris said Jones, a 21-year veteran officer, is accused of forcing a
female to engage in sexual conduct July 13. He's been suspended from the
force without pay pending the outcome of the court case.
Jones' attorney says he denies the allegation and looks forward to his day in court.
