ARCHBOLD, Ohio (WTVG) -- A freight train barreled into an empty pick-up truck stuck on a railroad crossing, halting train traffic on the line for several hours overnight.

It happened around 2:45 a.m. west of Archbold on Fulton Co. Rd 24.

Deputies tell 13abc the crossing is under construction. They say a Dodge pick-up drove around the barricades and got stuck on the tracks.

The driver exited the cab moments before a freight train crashed into the vehicle. No one else was inside, and no one on the train was hurt.

Crews cleared the wreckage by 5:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. The driver faces two citations related to the accident.
