STRYKER, Ohio (WTVG) -- A woman in her seventies and a 10-year-old boy are both in the hospital after a two-vehicle crash.
It happened 2:55 p.m. Tuesday on Williams County Road 23.50 at County Road F.50, roughly two miles east of Stryker.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol says Mary Sauder, 39, of Pioneer, was driving a 2006 Chrysler Town and Country minivan northbound, when a 2004 Buick, driven by Mary Lou Thomas, 72, of Stryker, entered the intersection heading west.
Sauder, according to troopers, failed to stop at the sign, and crashed into the side of the car driven by Thomas. Both vehicles traveled off the roadway and came to rest in a corn field.
Rescue workers used the Jaws of Life to remove Thomas from her vehicle. They also removed Sauder's 10-year-old son from the minivan by "non-mechanical means." The boy was not wearing a seatbelt.
Both the boy, who's also from Pioneer, and Thomas were flown to Mercy Saint Vincent Medical Center by Life Flight. The 10-year-old was last listed in stable condition, Thomas was listed as "serious."
