"Pollyball" honors woman by fighting cancer

TOLEDO, Ohio -

After Polly Hylant-Tracy lost her battle to breast cancer, her family decided to organize an event in her name.

They call it Pollyball. Polly loved the outdoors, so volleyball seemed like an appropriate way to remember her.

Event organizer Ty Szumigala says, "It puts dollars into research,  obviously the research for breast cancer."

Proceeds from the tournament also benefit the YWCA. Pollyball has raised nearly one million dollars for breast cancer research over the past 20 years.

    Toledo police shot and killed a man with a gun early Thursday morning. Police say officers were patrolling in the 1000 block of Page Street around 12:30 when they saw a man pointing a gun at a woman.
    A Toledo police officer shot and killed a man overnight. Police say the man was standing over a woman with a shotgun. We're told the woman is now thanking the officers for saving her life.
