Findlay flood fix could take years

Posted: Updated:
FINDLAY, Ohio -

It has been five years since record flooding swamped two towns in Northwest Ohio. Residents and community leaders are still waiting for a solution

Flood prevention has become a top priority along the Blanchard River and in the towns of Findlay and Ottawa where there have five major floods since 2007.

Already, nearly $4 million has been spent by city and county governments on flood-control efforts.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers says it's going to take three more years to finish studying the watershed, determine flood solutions and seek federal funding.

One of the federal officials studying the issue says that by the end of the year they should be able to present flood control options to local officials.
