Posted: Updated:
TOLEDO, Ohio -

Toledo police have released surveillance video of a suspect who may be responsible for a deadly shooting. They want to know if you recognize the man in the video on the bike.

"We believe one of these two guys is the shooter," says Sgt. Joe Heffernan.

Last night, 27-year-old Saveon Childress was shot in the chest and killed.

It happened on Hoag near Prospect.

Sgt. Joe Heffernan says two men were on bicycles when they approached Saveon Childress and his twin brother Jowan.

Words were exchanged and shots fired

"At this time we do not have a motive we know there was some communication between he two brothers and two people on the bicycles to what that communication was we don't know at this time," says Sgt. Heffernan.

Saveon Childress died at a local hospital.

This afternoon balloons were placed at the shooting scene to remember him.

Family and friends comforted the victims twin brother, Jowan.

Police say he ran when the shots were fired

Investigators say they need the community's help to ID the suspects.

"We do have the picture of a the person wearing a blue shirt riding a smaller BMX bike that was there when it happened. We need to identify who he is number one and get his side of the story as to what happened or what he saw," says the Toledo officer.

Childress is Toledo's 22nd homicide

Police say if you can identify the suspects or have any information about the crime, call Crime Stoppers at 419-255-1111.
