At approximately 10:30 Tuesday morning, a Toledo Edison substation reportedly tripped and caused equipment at the Toledo Refining Company to lose power and shut down.
Heavy flaring was caused by the sudden loss of power. An especially large blaze could be seen coming from what the company calls its "flare stacks," which are used to burn off any excess gases.
There were no injuries to the employees or contractors on site.
