Woman dresses in scrubs, tries to snatch newborn

Posted: Updated:

A 3-day-old baby in Pittsburgh has been re-united with his family after police say someone snatched him from the hospital.

Police say the suspect dressed up in scrubs from a nearby uniform store and posed as a hospital worker before walking out the door with little Bryce Coleman, just as his parents were getting ready to take him home.

Police intercepted the woman and took her into custody.

According to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, since 1983 131 babies have been taken from hospitals.  126 of them were found. Five are still missing.

Most of the time, those babies are taken, not from the nursery, but from the mother's room.
