The Ohio Department of Transportation is celebrating the completion of the Route 24 project today.
It's part of the Fort to Port project that will connect Toledo to Fort Wayne, Indiana. The roadway will open to traffic Wednesday. Tuesday there was a ribbon cutting.
Two races will also take place along the new stretch of roadway on Tuesday night.
Registration is at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. The bike race begins at 6:30 p.m. and the walk/run starts at 7 p.m.

Toledo police shot and killed a man with a gun early Thursday morning. Police say officers were patrolling in the 1000 block of Page Street around 12:30 when they saw a man pointing a gun at a woman.
