Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine is asking for the public's help in locating a
convicted sex offender who allegedly falsified his registration by providing an
incorrect address.
Terrance Reid was convicted in July 1998 on a charge
of Gross Sexual Imposition. His victim is listed as a juvenile girl, and upon
his conviction a judge classified him as a habitual sex offender. Habitual sex
offenders are required to register their address once a year for 20 years after
they are released from prison.
Records show that Reid updated his
registry information on July 24, 2012, by providing an address of 105 17th
Street in Toledo. When deputies followed up to confirm Reid's living
arrangements, documents indicate that Reid had not been staying at that address
as required, and a warrant was issued for his arrest on July 30, 2012.
Reid is also listed as one of the U.S. Marshal's Northern Ohio Violent
Fugitive Task Force's "Dangerous
Dozen."
Anyone with information regarding the
whereabouts of Terrance Reid should contact the Ohio Bureau of Criminal
Investigation (BCI) at 855-BCI-OHIO (855-224-6446). You can also submit a tip to
the U.S. Marshals via text by sending the information to TIP411 (847411) with
the keyword "Wanted."
This news release is part of Attorney General Mike
DeWine's Crimes Against Children Initiative. As part of the Crimes Against
Children Initiative, Attorney General DeWine will publicize convicted sex
offenders who have victimized children and are wanted on outstanding warrants.
Other parts of the initiative include the establishment of a Crimes Against
Children Unit at BCI, creation of a rapid response team for crimes against
children, and specialized law enforcement training through BCI and the Ohio
Peace Officer Training Academy (OPOTA).
