(AP) - Southeastern Michigan authorities have released the name of a man they say crashed into two other vehicles on Interstate 75, then fatally shot himself in the head when witnesses went to check on him.
The Monroe County sheriff's department on Tuesday said 33-year-old Matthew George Bitzer died at the scene. His last known residence was in Toledo.
The department says the crash happened Sunday morning in Frenchtown Township near Monroe after his speeding car first struck a pickup truck and then a car.
The department says it's seeking information from the public about Bitzer's death.
