1 killed, 1 injured when car hits tree in Perrysburg

PERRYSBURG, Ohio -

Ohio State Highway Patrol confirms that a woman was killed in a crash in Perrysburg Township Wednesday night.

Troopers say Justin Shane, 22, of Perrysburg, was speeding west on Dowling Road when he went off the road and hit a tree.

Investigators say Shane was flown to the hospital by LifeFlight with life-threatening injuries.

His passenger, Crystal McLaughlin, 31, of Wayne, Ohio, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers say neither one was wearing a seatbelt. Alcohol is suspected to have played a role in the crash.
