New details in the attendance scrubbing investigation across the State of Ohio.
According to an investigation by the Columbus Dispatch, Columbus schools are taking more students to court for skipping school than the Cleveland School District.
The Dispatch reports Cleveland Schools wiped more than 1700 students from its attendance rolls but have not filed any court cases
The Columbus school district withdrew 44 students from its rolls, and filed about 1800 truancy court cases.
School districts across the state have admitted to erasing the names of students who are consistently absent from school from attendance lists.
The state is currently investigating whether the practice is legal.
