TOLEDO, Ohio -

The Fur Ball is the Toledo Area Humane Society's largest annual fundraiser. All of the proceeds go directly to support the organization's mission.  Community support allows TAHS to help thousands of homeless animals that come through their doors each year.  Funds raised also allow the group to respond to thousands of reports of cruelty, abuse and neglect of animals in our community.

    For the first time this year, an algal bloom advisory is in effect for South Bass Island. Testing at the State Park Beach shows high levels of toxins in the water. It was 13 parts per billion of microcystin.
