It is Your Vote 2012, but Lucas County's early voting center is still up in the air.
County Commissioner Pete Gerken says its time to start letting voters know where they can go to vote early. But there's one problem board of election members haven't agreed on location.
"This is not the kind of activity when you pull up with a rental truck the day before pull out your computers and plug in the machines and hope the work right. It takes planning," said County Commissioner Pete Gerken
Early voting in Lucas county starts October second
"It absolutely has to be ADA accessible and we have to make sure our seniors can get into the location," said Board of Election member Jon Stainbrook.
Election board member Jon Stainbrook says the board is tweaking the details. Last month the Ohio Secretary of State took over the Lucas County Board of Elections.
Secretary of State John Husted said the board's fighting is putting the November election in jeopardy.
Republicans and democrats on the board have constantly deadlocked over issues forcing the secretary of state's office to break the ties.
"Early voting is a critical piece of a free and fair election and we don't have that yet," said Commissioner Gerken
"He should be concerned about the unemployment in Lucas county its 8.3 percent. I think that's what commissioner Pete Gerken should be concerned about than looking at the Board of Elections. We'll take care of our house you take care of yours," said Stainbrook
Commissioner Gerken says the county is doing what it can to create jobs.
"But here's what happens once every 4 years there's a presidential election. We are the only county in the state of Ohio under direct supervision by the secretary of state there's something wrong. I can be concerned about more than one thing, but here's what I do know democracy the ability for people to vote is as important as any issue in the next eight weeks," said Commissioner Gerken.
