Fire destroys Luckey, Ohio charity

Posted: Updated:

Fire rips through a local business and destroyed nearly everything inside.  It stated in a building along Main St. in Luckey, OH on Wednesday.

The business is a charity called Grace's Place.  It provides things like clothing and household items for people who are having a hard time.  Bob Hickok, the owner of Grace's Place watched as everything burned.

"It looks like a total loss," he said fighting back tears.

The Troy township Fire Chief says when they arrived on scene they found smoke coming from the roof and heavy fire inside.  Firefighters were able to keep the fire under control.  The building itself is still structurally sound, however, the items inside sustained heavy damage.

At this point in time, Hickok says he isn't ready for new donations.  He says the first step is to assess the damage and begin clean.

In the meantime, Troy Township firefighters are still trying to determine how the fire started.
