Very early Thursday morning, Democrats formally nominated President Barack Obama for a second term.
As the states cast their ballots one by one - Ohio's delegation put Obama over the top. And on Thursday night, the president made his case for why he needs four more years.
Former Ohio Governor Ted Strickland said, "I think we feel good about what's going to happen on November 6th.
Obama told the nation he'll move us forward. His stadium speech was supposed to be rain or shine, but after threats of rain, The President scrapped plans to accept the nomination in an outdoor stadium and moved the convention's final night indoors.
The last minute reshuffle gave Republicans a chance to slam the president saying he moved the speech inside because he couldn't fill the stadium with the 65,000 supporters he promised.
But our delegates disagree. They say the President's message is what's important.
Ruby Gilliam, a delegate from Ohio said, "I'm here because we're going to elect President Obama and seniors will keep Social Security and Medicare."
Chris Redfern, the Ohio Democratic Party chair was also enthusiastic, "He ended a war, GM is alive."
Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur told us she has a great feeling from the experience - saying this is the American she knows, "He's linked arms with us.in the agricultural sector."
So even though we didn't expect to be here inside this arena Thursday, it's exactly where our delegates say they want to be.
