*Romney/Ryan Bus Tour in Ohio

Republican Vice Presidential candidate Paul Ryan will hold a town hall meeting there kicking of the Romney campaign's three day bus tour of Ohio.

*Maritime Museum Groundbreaking

There's a groundbreaking scheduled today for what will become the new home for the national museum of the great lakes. The museum is in Vermillion, Ohio right now. But it will eventually be at the maritime center in Toledo's marina district.

*Five Lakes Global Forum

More than 100 foreign investors will be in Toledo today and local economic developers will by trying to sell them on northwest Ohio. The investors will be here for the "Five Lakes Global Economic Forum." It's organized by the Regional Growth Partnership, 5 Lakes Global and the University of Toledo. Those groups say today's forum will give them a chance to show potential investors the potential the glass city and the region has for everything from commercial real estate to new manufacturing.

*OH – Gee Spending Habits

The president of The Ohio State University's spending habits is raising some eyebrows. An investigation by the Dayton Daily News found president E. Gordon Gee has spent 7.7 Million dollars on travel, entertainment, and upkeep on his 96-hundred square foot mansion. That's in addition to his 8.6 Million dollar annual salary. The school says endowments and private donations and not tuition or tax dollars are used to pay for those things.

*New SARS Virus Strain

British health authorities alerted the UN about a new respiratory virus that was found in a 49-year-old man in Qatar. The virus can apparently cause *SARS* - something that caused a worldwide scare a few years ago. The man had recently traveled to Saudi Arabia.

*Miriam Strengthens

U.S. Forecasters say Miriam is now a category 2 hurricane off of Mexico's coast. It has sustained winds of 105 miles per hour and could become a major hurricane sometime today. Right now, Miriam is not threatening land - so there aren't any coastal watches or warnings in effect.
