(AP) - Ohio's election chief is taking back an order that prohibited county officials from setting any hours during the final days of in-person, early voting. The moves comes after a federal judge this week ordered Secretary of State Jon Husted to appear at a court hearing over the swing state's early voting rules. Attorneys for President Barack Obama's campaign have urged the judge to enforce his ruling that restores early voting for all voters during the three days before Election Day.
2. HUMAN TRAFFICKING
(AP) - A federal grant has been awarded to two Ohio agencies to fight human trafficking, a practice that has been likened to modern-day slavery. The $700,000 U.S. Justice Department grant announced Friday will go to the Ohio Attorney General's Office and the Salvation Army of Central Ohio.
3. LAWN AND GARDEN CO. LAWSUIT
(AP) - Federal authorities say Ohio lawn and garden company Scotts Miracle-Gro will pay $12.5 million in criminal and civil penalties for violating pesticide laws. Scotts pleaded guilty to applying toxic insecticide to its wild bird food products and falsifying pesticide registrations. It also pleaded guilty to distributing pesticides with misleading and unapproved labels and distributing unregistered pesticides.
4. OLYMPIC PARENTS LAWSUIT
(AP) - The Ohio parents of Olympic gold medalist Tianna Madison have sued her, saying she spread stories they had been selfish and bullying and cheated her financially. Elyria residents Robert and Jo Ann Madison say in the suit they've been loving, supportive and generous parents. Tianna Madison was on the winning 4x100-meter relay track team at the Summer Olympics in London.

(AP) - A 14-year-old boy says he's thankful to be alive after an overflowing creek in a Cleveland suburb swept him a quarter of a mile through multiple sewer pipes. Jeffrey LaPorta of Parma says he was completely submerged in water at times and gasping for air before he found enough breathing room to await rescue.
