Ohio West Nile confirmed cases on the rise

The number of confirmed West Nile cases in Ohio is on the rise.

State health officials now say 67 people have been infected this year, that's more than two times the number from 3 weeks ago.

Two people in the state have died from the virus, at least six have died in Michigan.

According to the Ohio Department of Health, 36 of the state's 88 counties have confirmed West Nile cases in humans, mosquitos or horses.

To help prevent the virus, health officials recommend bug spray or and long sleeves.
