The Lenawee County Sheriff says the suspects are prying open church doors and looking for cash.
Investigators say Ogden Church was broken into last week. The suspect came in through a vent.
"They're using prying instruments to get into the churches. Once inside the church they're prying open file cabinets and drawers." said Sheriff Jack Welsh.
Four churches have been hit since August 12th. Crosspoint church, Ogden Church, Lutheran Church of the Lake and New Life Baptist church.
"They didn't take any musical equipment so they're obviously6 looking for cash," said the sheriff
According to a police report the suspect who broke into New Life Baptist Church took a metal can that contained $402.00 for the churches bible school children. The Sheriff urges local churches to set their alarms.
"The most important thing obviously is to make sure they don't leave any cash in the church at night. A night deposit would be appropriate," said the sheriff.
Investigators have learned a similar break-in occurred on M-34 near HIllsdale , MI. They believe that all the break-ins are connected due to the suspects M-O.
