Led by rounds of 80 from both Brooke Darah (Sylvania, Ohio/Northview H.S.) and Heather Steiner (Tiffin, Ohio/Calvert H.S.), Lourdes University finished in second place at the Jon P. Spiess Memorial Tournament held on Tuesday afternoon at Ironwood Golf Course in Wauseon, Ohio.
The Gray Wolves finished with a team score of 360 to finish 17 shots behind champion Trine on the 5,885-yard, par-72 layout.
Darah's round of 80 included an even-par 36 on the back nine while Steiner had consistent nines of 39 and 41. The duo each finished four strokes behind Trine's Amy Worthington for the individual title.
Lindsay Lehman (Bowling Green, Ohio/Otsego H.S.) and Roberta Craider (Brecksville, Ohio/Padua Franciscan H.S.) each fired 100 to round out the Lourdes lineup on the day.
Lourdes will have 10 days off from competition before returning to action on Sept. 21 in Northville, Mich. for the opening round of WHAC Jamboree #2 hosted by Madonna. Tee times begin at noon at Salem Hill Golf Club.
