Cat survives hours in owner's checked luggage

COLUMBUS, Ohio -

An Ohio woman got quite a surprise after a flight to Orlando when an unexpected stow-away came along for the ride.

Ethel Maze of Circleville, Ohio flew out of Columbus on a Disney Vacation. When she landed, she opened up her suit case and found her cat Bob-Bob.

Maze says a friend was helping her pack and the cat must have snuck in and got zipped up inside her suitcase.

Ethel says the 14-month-old cat seems fine, "Seems like he's eating this up, all the attention, because we're so happy that he survived we keep hugging him and telling him how much we love him."

Maze says Bob-Bob and the bag were checked at the airport and made their way down to Orlando.

A spokesman for the TSA said the technology used to scan bags is programmed to pick out explosives and weapons, but not animals.

The cat's owner says kitty will be flying home in a pet carrier.
