Bikers for Babies

Today the Cummerow family kicked off the 60 mile Bikers For Babies motorcycle ride from Toledo to Napoleon. They are this year's ambassador family for the March of Dimes. The couple's daughter Jordan was born premature.

Mom Jodi Cummerow said, "We went in for the ultrasounds they knew and we didn't know why."

Baby Jordan's stomach was not connected to her small intestine and the birth defect meant surgery immediately after an early birth.

After spending 96 days in the neo-natal intensive care unit at St. V's, the family says Jordan is your average preschooler with an amazing story of survival.

Today each rider supported people like the Cummerows who are spending countless hours hoping their babies survive.

While the mission is simple, the support is there, and the Cummerows are encouraging parents of preemies to hold out hope.

"We want people to know there is money available and people are doing research to find cures so babies aren't born with defects."
