Lourdes University head women's basketball coach Zareth Gray has announced the program's schedule for the 2012-2013 season, the second campaign in school history.
Highlighting this year's slate is a road contest on Dec. 10 at the University of Detroit Mercy, a NCAA Division I program. The Gray Wolves are also slated to face NCAA Division II foe Slippery Rock on Dec. 30.
"We play in a tough conference, one of the best in the nation," Gray said. "We have a NCAA Division I and Division II team on the non-conference schedule so we have lots of tough competition to get us ready for conference play."
The year will open on Oct. 27 at home at Tam-o-Shanter as Lourdes faces Indiana-South Bend. The Gray Wolves will then take to the road for six games, including the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference opener at Lawrence Tech on Nov. 17 as well as a pair of games at the Marian Classic (Nov. 23-24) in Indianapolis, Ind.
Non-conference road games also include contests with Wilberforce (Nov. 3), Spring Arbor (Nov. 6), and Rochester (Dec. 19).
Lourdes will host Aquinas on Dec. 4 at the Stroh Center on the campus of Bowling Green State University while also hosting Indiana Tech at Adrian College on Dec. 15. The 22-game WHAC slate ends on Senior Day with a game against Cornerstone (Feb. 16) which will take place on the Owens Community College campus.
"Our team motto this season is no competition, no progress," Gray added. "Our goal is to get better every game."
The WHAC Tournament is slated for Feb. 20, 23, and 25.
