A woman and a young girl
are both hurt after two shootings sent bullets flying into two different homes.
Both shootings appear similar, and Toledo
police are investigating if there's a direct link
The first happened around midnight on W. Streicher near Franklin. According to the crime
log, a 9-year-old girl who lives in the home was shot. Neighbors tell 13abc the girl is recovering after being
hit in the leg.
A second shooting took place a half hour later, a few blocks away on the 3300 block of Maplewood.
Danita Roddy, 47, tells us she was reading when a bullet pierced her mailbox, ripped through a pillow and grazed her back. A second gunshot shattered the glass on Roddy's front door.
Roddy says she had left bible study and dropped her two young daughters off at their grandmother's house hours before the shooting. She has no idea why anyone would target her, and she suspects she is a victim of a random act of violence.
