Posted: Updated:
SYLVANIA, Ohio -

Friday would have been his 24th birthday, but two and a half years ago he was shot and killed in the doorway of his apartment.

Now, his family is once again asking for someone to come forward with information.

The family of Joseph Linares is calling for justice. In January of 2010, the 21-year-old was shot and killed by someone as he answered a knock at his apartment door.

It happened at Lake of the Woods Apartments at the corner of Bancroft and McCord. Witnesses said they heard gunshots and then saw someone running through the nearby woods.

Lucas County detectives put out a sketch of a possible murder suspect, but the case has gone cold.

That's why on Joseph's birthday, his grandmother and sister are asking for anyone with information to come forward. If you have any information, you're asked to call Crime Stoppers at 419-255-1111.
