COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Ohio Gov. John Kasich is warning that Ohio's economy is not as strong as he would like and he's seeing signs of a possible slowdown.
Kasich says he's concerned that businesses are in a holding pattern until after the election and that the state won't continue to see gains.
Kasich, a supporter of Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney, told The Associated Press Friday that Ohio must be prepared to move forward regardless of the election's outcome.
Kasich made his remarks the same day officials announced Ohio's unemployment rate has held steady for the third month in a row and remains well below the national rate.
Kasich has sought to dampen expectations previously, saying earlier this year that Ohio still faced strong headwinds from national economic policies.
