Angela Zmmann could be the first Democrat elected in the 5th district since 1939.
She hopes to do that by walking a very different line from other Democratic challengers.
The district has been redrawn, it is literally half of what it used to be and has more Democrats in it. And that gives Angela Zimmann a real shot at winning.
"I don't walk any party line Democrat or Republican. I feel I need to be responsive to the people of this district."
Zimmann sees Washington as increasingly negative, intensely partisan and utterly incapable of solving problems.
She supports the President's new healthcare plan but sees an opportunity to tweak it to make it better.
"Do people need insurance? Yes. Is the affordable Health Care Act perfect? No. We need to think through this and be able to compromise."
But she says if Mitt Romney is elected, she wouldn't be a partisan who refuses to compromise if it's in the best interests of the district.
Zimmann calls herself a fiscal conservative.
"I'm in favor of small government and I'm in favor of government that runs efficiently and makes maximum use out of every dollar that it gets."
she thinks raising taxes on people making $250,000 will help balance the budget and worries entitlement cuts alone will hurt the middle class.
She insists the 80-billion dollar auto bailout saved us from economic collapse.
But admits the 700-billion dollar stimulus could have been better targeted for better results.
Zimmann claims she is no ideologue and will do what's best for her district, which see says is what voters want and America needs.
"What people see is someone like them who cares about what they care about, who understands their needs and who's willing to listen."
You can learn more about Angela Zimmann by going on YouTube, Facebook and Twitter.
Bob Latta won this district with more than 60% of the vote in 2010. But Angela Zimmann is ready for a fight and she wants to debate. So far, no commitment from Latta.
